A Day for Kids on Angel Island August 25

Angel Island State Park will be holding its first event based on the California Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights.

  1. Discover California’s Past
  2. Explore nature
  3. Splash in the water
  4. Learn to swim
  5. Play in a safe place
  6. Play on a team
  7. Catch a fish
  8. Camp under the stars
  9. Follow a trail
  10. Celebrate their Heritage

Encourage California’s children to participate in outdoor activities and discover their heritage. Show that children who participate in outdoor activities are healthier, do better in school, have better social skills and self-image, and lead more fulfilled lives. Say that every child in California should, by the end of their 14th year, have the opportunity to experience each of the activities listed with the California Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights. Park staff and volunteers will have stations setup that will allow park visitors to do all of their Bill of Rights in one day whether its learning to fish or camping under the stars. Families will be treated to storytelling, seed planting activities, trail walks, s ’more-making, and more!
